Dissatisfaction with the service provided by our current provider initially for our investments and then my mothers.

Stocks and Shares ISAs

While a cash ISA is simply a tax-free savings account, a Stocks and Shares ISA is a tax-efficient investment account that lets you put money into range of different investments.

This can vary from what companies and also what areas of the world you want to invest in. The tax advantages can be significant, especially if you're a higher or additional-rate taxpayer.

As with all investments given the variety of options available, style of management and differing fees, it is important to consider all the various options and most importantly, the ones that suit your needs.

Other Tax Efficient Investments

There are many different investments that are also as tax efficient as ISAs. These not only offer tax free growth longer term but can also offer income tax reducing incentives as well.

Given the variety of investment types and options, this area needs careful consideration and advice prior to any investing.

It can be very useful to consider these strategies alongside pensions, as they typically offer shorter investment time horizons and easier access to the funds.

Investment Bonds

Investment bonds utilise a different tax and investment strategy and also allow you to make regular fixed withdrawals.

Withdrawals of up to 5% each year of the amount that you invested can be taken without triggering any immediate tax liability.

However, the tax is in effect only deferred, so utilising investment bonds and the types available, all differ as to how they could compliment your planning.

Investing Company Funds

There are many different ways you can extract money from you company in a tax efficient way, this is also true when it comes to investing funds.

It can make a huge difference to a Limited Companies corporation tax bill or a self employed persons income tax liability.

As with all areas of advice, if this is to be considered, it should be tailored to your specific circumstances and how you have set up your business.

The future value of investments can fall as well as rise and future growth is not guaranteed.
